Reminiscent of days gone by this delicate scene depicts the traditional activity of hanging birdcages in trees. The ornamental birdcage was made from fine materials, held high artistic value, and perfected in the Qing Dynasty. In this contemporary scene the cages are open, and the birds fly freely around the delicately painted buds and foliage.
